NFL Football on Thanksgiving Day dates back to 1920. The NFL Network put together a list (with video highlights, of course) of the ten best NFL Thanksgiving Day performances.
10. Troy Aikman (1998) – Dallas Cowboys QB Troy Aikman completed 34 of 57 passes for a whopping 455 yards in a 46-36 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
9. Barry Sanders (1997) – 19 carries for 167 yards and 3 TDs in a 55-20 win over the Bears.
8. Lawrence Taylor (1982) – LT’s 97 yard pass interception for a touchdown is the difference in a 13-6 Giants victory over the Lions.
7. Jason Garrett (1994) – Cowboys backup QB Jason Garrett goes 15-26 for 311 Yards and 2 TDs to beat the Packers 42-31.
6. Clint Longley (1974) – 11-20 for 203 yards and 2 TDs vs the Redskins.
5. Jim Benton (1945) – Cleveland Rams WR Jim Benton snagged 10 passes for 303 yards in a 28-21 victory over the Lions.
4. Peyton Manning (2004) – Threw for a whopping 6 TDs in beating the Lions.
3. Bob Griese (1977) – Also threw for 6 TDs as the Miami Dolphins set a Thanksgiving Day record by scoring 55 points vs. the St. Louis Cardinals.
2. Randy Moss (1998) – 3 catches for 163 yards and 3 TDs in a 46-36 victory over Dallas.
1. OJ Simpson (1976) – 273 yards rushing and 2 TDs vs. the Lions.
