Every Aaron Rodgers Full Interview with Pat McAfee – 2021
For the second straight year, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers joins Pat McAfee and former teammate AJ Hawk every Tuesday for an in depth conversation. We’ve compiled a complete list of those interviews with a brief synopsis of each appearance. Check out all the interviews that have the NFL media buzzing on a weekly basis.
New for 2021 is the “Aaron Rodgers Book Club.” Each week at the end of the interview, Rodgers recommends a new book for people to read.
The week’s are numbered not by NFL weeks, but by the number of weeks that Rodgers has appeared on the show. For example, in week #2 of the show, Rodgers discusses his game in week one of the NFL season.
Week 1 – September 7th 2021
Rodgers discusses some of the subjects from his rather eventful offseason. He openly admits that he was thinking about not coming back and one point, his relationship of Head Coach Matt LeFleur.
Also discussed is the evolution of the rules and the passing game in the league. Rodgers believes that some of the rule changes in regards to how defenses are allowed to play have allowed for less accountability on quarterbacks for some bad throws.
Rodgers also discusses officiating, the new taunting rule and referees. He mentions former NFL referee Gene Steratore as an official he believes is “one of the best refs, if not the best ref” during his career. (28:45)
Finally, Rodgers announced a book club where he will suggest a new book to read every week. His first book recommendation was “The Alchemist” by Paulo Cuelho.
Week 2 – September 14th 2021
Aaron Rodgers discusses the details of the Week 1 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Rodgers also talks about halftime adjustments, watching a bit of the initial “Manning-cast” on MNF, playing against Brian Urlacher, and pre-game routine.
Finally, he announces the second installment of the Aaron Rodgers book club, “Where Men Win Glory” by John Krakauer.
Week 3 – September 21st 2021
Aaron Rodgers joins Pat & AJ Hawk the day after a week 2 win over Detroit. Rodgers also talks about some of his past teams and teammates and recommends The Giver by Lois Lowry for the Aaron Rodgers Book Club.
Week 4 – September 28th 2021
Aaron Rodgers discusses Green Bay’s last minute win over San Francisco on Sunday Night Football and goes into detail on a big play to Davante Adams late in the game.
Looking forward to next week’s game at Pittsburgh, Rodgers talks about his affection for the town and its people and his fandom of Pittsburgh Dad.
He also recalls a time he went to an open mic night with his guitar and teases a little acoustic guitar before signing off.
This week’s offering for the Aaron Rodgers’ book club is Be Here Now by Ram Dass.
Week 5 – October 5th 2021
Aaron Rodgers talks about a win against Pittsburgh, his in-game interaction with Mike Tomlin and his respect for Tomlin as a coach. There is also a visit from “Pittsburgh Dad.” He also talks about the difference between interacting with coaches in the NFL vs. college.
This week’s book recommendation is “The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz.
Week 6 – October 12th 2021
Aaron Rodgers discusses the game with Cincinnati, his thoughts on Joe Burrow, advising Burrow (and other QBs) to slide, Chicago Bears week, how inflated he likes the footballs, and teases a story of the time he saw a UFO.
Rodgers also talks specifically about about each of the Packers offensive lineman and even calls for some Pro Bowl attention for Right Tackle Billy Turner.

Week 7 – October 19th 2021
This week’s edition of Aaron Rodgers’ Tuesday has Rodgers talking about the win over the Bears, the Chicago – Green Bay rivalry, and how he yelled “I own you!” to the crowd in Chicago after scoring a touchdown. He says some back and forth between players and fans happens on a regular basis and discusses his feelings of “Woke culture” and “Cancel Culture.”
Rodgers discusses his relationship with coach Matt LeFleur, his play-action fake and the former coach who taught him the fake, and an interaction with the officials on Sunday.
The latest edition of the Aaron Rodgers’ Book Club is “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu.
Week 8 – October 26th 2021
Rodgers joins Pat and AJ from the Packers facility this week as he’s preparing for a Thursday night showdown vs. Arizona. They discuss the Packers win against Washington, a play where Rodgers almost ran out of the back of the end zone, Rodgers relationship with ESPN’s Dan Orlavsky, and the upcoming game.

Week 9 – November 2nd 2021
Aaron Rodgers talks about his halloween costume, how his teammate Preston Smith assisted with the costume, the post-game memes, the win over Arizona, and this week’s matchup with Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes.

Week 9 (Part #2) – November 5th 2021
Aaron Rodgers talks about his Covid-19 diagnosis and the surrounding controversy surrounding his vaccination status.
Week #10 – November 9, 2021
Aaron talks about the conversation around his vaccination status, how he’s feeling, comments regarding the covid-19 vaccine, watching the Packers play without him.

Week #11 – November 16, 2021

Coming off a loss to Minnesota, Rodgers discusses the details of the game, how he feels about certain Vikings defensive players, his toe injury and how it will affect him going forward in the season.

Week #13 – November 30, 2021
Aaron Rodgers talks about the game against the Rams, his own TD run, thoughts on Running Back A.J Dillon, the possibility of surgery on his injured toe, his thoughts on a Wall Street Journal article about his toe, and playing in the cold.
This is the Packers bye week so Rodgers didn’t provide a book suggestion.

Week 21 – Divisional Playoff Round – January 25th, 2022

He looks back at the books in the Aaron Rodgers Book Club, and teases that he will return to the Pat McAfee Show when he’s ready to announce his future plans.
