Philadelphia 76ers Theme Song: “Here Come the Sixers”
If you followed the Philadelphia 76ers back in the 70’s and 80’s, you very well may remember the classic 76ers anthem, “Here Come the Sixers.” The song was initially released in 1975 but had been largely forgotten untill recently.
As you might expect, the song has a distinct 1970’s feel to it. You can just imagine this song playing in the background as Julius Erving, Caldwell Jones, and Darryl Dawkins were roaming the floor at the old Philadelphia Spectrum.

The New York Times did a detailed retrospective of Here Come the Sixers 2018. It’s an interesting read that includes inspiration from all things, Sesame Street.
